Why We Started
At Ellidel, our roots lie in a growing concern — we kept seeing beautiful historic homes being repaired with modern materials that weren’t made for them. Though the work was often done with good intentions, it caused long-term damage: trapped moisture, crumbling lime, failing plaster, and costly repairs that could have been avoided.
After years of hands-on experience in heritage projects, we realised there was a better way. Old buildings need more than general building knowledge — they require traditional methods, breathable materials, and a deeper understanding of how they were built in the first place. That’s why Ellidel was founded: to bring proper care back to proper buildings.
